The bat pattern is super cute! The only thing I wish is that there was stitch counts at the end of each round, i’m having a hard time with rows 3 and 4, and I have no idea where I went wrong.
GoldenLucyCrafts says
I just added stitch counts for the Rows 1-3. Row 4 has many different Sts, so I haven’t add number of stitches as it will be very confusing. Hope this will help!

This bat is sooo cute! A great tutorial, really easy to follow and it worked up so quickly. Thanks so much!
GoldenLucyCrafts says
I am glad that you liked my bat! Thank you!

I´m really looking forward to making your Halloween bat applique, but the online pattern has only one size: the one whose wings have a foundation chain of 26. Could you send me the other pattern size? Halloween is approaching fast.
GoldenLucyCrafts says
To make bat applique in two sizes I used different yarn weights and hooks. The pattern is the same for both sizes. Please refer to the materials list to find which yarn and hooks I used.

I love this pattern so much and was wondering if you’d ever be open to writing it bigger? I’d love to see a baby blanket size!
GoldenLucyCrafts says
I am glad to hear that you like this pattern. I like to design appliques and occasionally amigurumi, so I don’t think that I will design a large-size bat.
Sharon says
How do you hdcto together when your working on the ch26 ?
GoldenLucyCrafts says
You work like usual HDC2tog but insert your hook into chains. Step 1: Yarn over the crochet hook.
Step 2: Insert the crochet hook into the chain.
Step 3: Yarn over the crochet hook again.
Step 4: Pull the yarn through the chain. You should now have three stitches on your hook.
Step 5. Yarn over.
Step 6: Insert the crochet hook into the next chain.
Step 7: Yarn over the crochet hook again.
Step 8: Pull the yarn through the chain. You should now have five stitches on your hook.
Step 9: Yarn over the crochet hook one last time.
Step 10: Pull the yarn through all five stitches on your crochet hook.

This pattern is so so so so cute! I struggled a bit with the wings, but I just needed to trust the process and follow the pattern bc the more I went along the more it started making sense visually. I set the heads a bit lower into the wings bc I wanted a more silhouette kind of style (with no googly eyes) and chained 20 between wings to make the garland and I can’t get over how CUTE it is! Thank you for the pattern!!!
GoldenLucyCrafts says
Thank you so much for your feedback! I am happy to hear that you like my bat pattern!

I’m having issues with the wings, specifically row 3. I’m getting much more than 21 stitches. What does the “ DC2tog (over 2nd and 3rd Sts) mean? Do I need to start in stitch 4? Or do I dc2tog in both stitches 2 & 3? Thank you!!
GoldenLucyCrafts says
It means that you skip very first stitch and then do DC2tog.
